FAQ

Different Types of Chat Rooms

Registered iWebcam® chat profiles on the chat service may create and host chat rooms. The chat room may be configured to allow for a many-to-many social chatting environment or a one-to-many experience.

Many-to-Many

Many-to-many chat rooms allow all persons in the chat room to select a cam broadcast of any other participant in the chat room. Text may be sent to the public text display and participants my engage in private text chats within the chat room.

One-to-Many

One-to-many chat rooms have a separate chat room listing category on the rooms list. This type of chat room allows the room host to broadcast to everyone participating in their chat room. The room host may view any cam from persons participating in the chat room. However, the room participants may only view the room host cam broadcast. Text may be sent to others to view in the public text display or in private chat messaging.

If a  member prefers to copy their embed code and place the embed code on a website their chat room will be also available through the website. Each registered iWebcam® member profile has a single chat room.  Therefore, if you wish to have a chat room for two different websites we recommend that you register separate member profiles for each embed code you wish to use on your websites.
